Happy New Year!

Today is the first day of a brand new year. I might not do a lot for New Years, but I really love this day, and the idea of it. The idea that, you may have made a mess of last year, but now you have another one to try again. The idea that this year could be different. It’s a day for ridiculous optimism. You get to think about what you would change, and where you’d like to be at the end of another 365 days.

The funny thing is, I didn’t do anything for New Years Eve. I spent the time up until midnight working on a math assignment, and watching the Google New Years animation. But still, its one of the ones I’m most excited about. By the end of 2014, I’ll be a college graduate. Hopefully I’ll have a good job (I’ve already started a little job hunting), but my unofficial resolutions are more introspective.

This year, I will loosen up. This year, I won’t focus so much on my mistakes. This year, I won’t over-think. This year, I will write and draw whatever I want and just not care. And you know? For the first time, I really feel like I can.
